Mauricio Pochettino has picked up the Barclays Manager of the Month award for October, Southampton Football Club is pleased to confirm.
Pochettino saw off competition from José Mourinho, Arsène Wenger and Brendan Rodgers to take the third monthly gong of the new season after October’s wins over Swansea and Fulham plus a credible draw away at reigning champions Manchester United.
“I am obviously delighted to have won this award, but I must stress that this is a reflection of the work of many people at the Club,” Pochettino told saintsfc.co.uk after receiving his trophy.
“First and foremost, credit must go to the players for the performances and hard work they have put in, not only during October but over the last few months.
“I must also thank the incredible people at this club, right from the chairman, Nicola Cortese, through to the staff working at the training ground to prepare the team for each match.
“I hope this is the first of many accolades given to the Club as we look to continue the good form we have shown in October and since the start of the season.”
