Saints Under-21 goalkeeper Cody Cropper will represent his native USA at U20 level in two tournaments during the close season.

The American shot stopper, who has made 13 appearances in his debut campaign for Martin Hunter’s Under-21s squad this year, will depart later this month to take part in the Toulon Tournament over in France.

The Tournoi Espoirs de Toulon - a competition which Morgan Schneiderlin is a previous participant of - takes place in the last week of May and the first week of June, comprising of a group stage followed by knock-out tournament to determine the Finalists.

Following the conclusion of that competition, Cropper will head out to Turkey for a month to participate in the U20s World Cup.

The States qualified alongside Mexico, El Salvador and Cuba from the CONCACAF U20 Championship. They will be in Group A alongside France, Ghana and Spain, with Cropper’s first match against the Spanish on 21st June in Istanbul.

Upon linking up with America’s U20s who are coached by Tab Ramos, Cropper will also encounter one-time Southampton loanee Kasey Keller. The former Spurs and Leicester custodian is now part of the coaching set up in his homeland with that age group.
