Maya Yoshida is in the Japan squad for their friendly double-header against France and Brazil.
The Saints defender is one of 23 players selected by national boss Alberto Zaccheroni for the two matches, both of which will be staged in Europe.
The Samurai Blue face their French counterparts at the Stade de France in Saint Denis on Friday 12th October at 8pm BST.
Yoshida and his compatriots then move to Wroclaw in Poland, where they face Brazil in the city's new Municipal Stadium on Tuesday 16th October with a 1.10pm BST kick off.
The 24 year-old will join up with his national team after this Saints' game against Fulham this Sunday and return in time for the trip to West Ham on Saturday 20th October.
