Southampton FC Women’s Head Coach Remi Allen has issued a fitness update on her squad ahead of Sunday's clash with league leaders Birmingham City.

Speaking in her preview of Sunday's test, the Saints boss shared a clean bill of health after her side's dominant south coast derby win last week.

"Really good, they’re hard players so they get on with it," was Allen's assessment of the physical Portsmouth test last time out.

"They’ll have a bit of TLC and treatment but we’ve got everyone back onto the pitch, raring to go and wanting to be selected or the weekend."

With longer-term injured duo Izzy Milne and Issy Watts still in their rehab, Allen provided an update on loan-forward Lucy Watson, who is continuing her work towards a full inclusion after joining the club on transfer deadline day.

"It’s nice to see her on pitch, she’s doing really well and working hard - she’s with the fitness people at the minute which is never the fun side of the game.

"She’s getting her head down and going through it all so hopefully we'll get her back [with the squad] as soon as possible."
