Conti Cup Group D action beckons as Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side take on Reading at Aldershot Town FC.

Saints sit second in the group behind Tottenham Hotspur after collecting a bonus point in their first game of the competition away to Bristol City.

Reading were beaten by the aforementioned league leaders 6-0 at Brisbane Road, as six different goalscorers breached the Royals’ goal.

Liam Gilbert will be hoping to improve on recent performances which sees them sitting tenth in the league, just above the relegation zone, and after pushing Birmingham City right till the end at the weekend, they’ll be up for the fight.

MANAGER’S NOTES

“The league and cup schedule is unforgiving, but we’re still looking forward to another test and relish the challenge.

“Getting the bonus point at Bristol City was a great start to the campaign, and we’ll be looking to keep that momentum going.

“Reading are a team we’ve already played this season, but they’re also a side who have been improving their results, so we can’t be complacent or expect the same result again without providing the performance.

“Our fans were a vocal twelfth player last time out at Reading, and we’re hoping they’ll make the trip again - the girls will look to put on a strong performance for them.”
