It’s a short trip to league newcomers Reading FC in the fourth matchday of the Barclays Women’s Championship.

Saints come into the fixture off the back of a 1-0 home loss to a gritty Sunderland side, and will be keen to secure all three points to remain in the top three.

Despite going through transition off the pitch, Liam Gilbert’s Reading have secured three draws in their first three games, including a hard-fought 1-1 result against promotion hopefuls London City Lionesses.

What kit will Saints be wearing?

It’s a first appearance for the black away kit, with Reading in their home blue and white.

Last meeting 

Saints and then WSL Reading met during the 2022/23 Continental Cup group stages at St Mary’s. Lauren Wade scored a brace in the first half before Justine Vanhaevermaet pushed the tie beyond a doubt in the second.

Tickets are available to purchase online from the Reading FC ticketing site, with Adults priced at £12 and Concessions between £4 and £6.

We know that last week wasn’t what we’re capable of as a team and we’ve been putting that right on the training pitch this week.

“Reading will be another tough test for us, and having shown they can grind out results under pressure, we’ll need to be clinical when we have our opportunities.

“Our fans have been fantastic as always, and with Reading being one of those closer games this season, we’re hoping to put on a performance for a large and loud travelling crowd.”
