FA Cup action beckons, and it’s a familiar foe as Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side travel down the south coast to face Pompey Women.
It’s been a few weeks without match action for Saints, with their last game coming in the form of a record-breaking Conti Cup fixture against Arsenal. Molly Pike opened the scoring against the Gunners with an inspired finish, before Jonas Eidevall’s side fought back to secure an injury time winner.
Pompey recorded comprehensive results in their run to book their place in the Third Round, beating Fulham 9-1 and Ebbsfleet United 7-0. They also sit top of the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier, having wracked up a positive 42 goal difference.
With ex-Saints Beth Lumsden, Georgie Freeland and Leeta Rutherford all making the move to Portsmouth over the summer, there’s plenty at stake for both sides.

WHAT KIT WILL SAINTS BE WEARING?
It’s iconic red and white for Saints, while Pompey will be in their blue home strip.
LAST MEETING
It was an important one to win the last time the two sides met, as Saints confirmed their league victory at St Mary’s in 2022.
Sophia Pharoah and Lucia Kendall were on hand with the goals in front of what was then a record-breaking attendance at Saints’ home.

MANAGER’S NOTES
“It’s been a while since the girls have been on the pitch together, and we’re looking forward to getting back out there in what will be a fiercely competitive South Coast derby.
“We’re coming off the back of a brilliant performance against Arsenal, but likewise, Portsmouth have plenty of momentum of their own in both the cup and the league, and they’ll be eager to test themselves.
“We know there’ll be strong travelling support and the FA Cup is a competition that the team have had some great results in, so they’ll be relishing the opportunity to do the same again on Sunday.”
