Tella departs for Bayer Leverkusen
Nathan Tella has completed a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen, Southampton Football Club can confirm.
The forward departs for Germany after six years with the club, having joined the Saints Academy from Arsenal as a 17-year-old.
Three years later, Tella made his senior debut against Norwich in the Premier League, and went on to make 44 appearances for the first team, scoring three goals.
Although disappointed to lose such a talented homegrown player and popular character, the club felt the offer represented fair value for the 24-year-old.
The move also gives him the opportunity to fulfil his desire to play abroad, and play in the Europa League this season.
