Tackling antisocial behaviour together
Matchday reports from fans play a crucial role in our continuing attempts to cut out antisocial behaviour and make sure visiting St Mary’s is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We encourage fans to report any antisocial incidents during matches. That includes throwing pyrotechnics, bad behaviour, offensive language and abuse of stewards. By reporting these incidents, you help us take swift and appropriate action so they don’t happen again.
Recently, at the Leicester game, we identified three males aged between 17 and 18 who were throwing pyrotechnics from the Northam home stand into the Northam away end. All will now serve three-year bans from St Mary’s Stadium.
We know that only a small minority of fans are spoiling the atmosphere and the majority of fans are here to support their teams.
We have crunched the numbers to help set a clear benchmark and help us all proactively assess any areas that may need improvement and fine tune our approach to antisocial behaviour.
We also hope this information helps supporters visiting St Mary’s to understand how we go about taking action.
