Supporting accessibility through Unite for Access

We’re joining with Level Playing Field, the leading charity advocating for disabled sports fans in England and Wales, to support the charity’s Unite for Access campaign.

Hundreds of sports clubs are coming together from 24th Feb – 10th March to support this year’s campaign which is focused on non-visible disabilities.

Non-visible disabilities are wide ranging and may not be immediately apparent when meeting someone who has one.

And it’s not just the responsibility of organisations like Level Playing Field to drive change – responsibility lies with the whole sporting community to make the experience of disabled fans as accessible as possible when going to live events.

At Saints, we’re supporting the campaign by sharing stories from Saints fans with disabilities and through matchday activities at St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday 6th March when we host Preston.

Sport should be for everyone but there’s work to be done to make this a reality. Level Playing Field’s fan survey shows nearly a quarter of disabled fans feel they can’t attend certain sports or sporting venues, because they’re inaccessible.

If you have accessibility concerns about St Mary’s Stadium, you can get in touch with the Saints Disabled Supporters’ Association by emailing [email protected].
