16 girls on Saints Foundation's Changemakers project took part in an exclusive training session donated by Gordana Šolak.

Led by Southampton FC Women's Team coach Lauren Phillips, the participants came to Staplewood Training Ground for the exclusive experience, which included a classroom-based workshop, physical training session and ended with a tournament where each team got to play alongside a Women's First Team player.

Beth Howard, Beth Lumsden, Ashleigh Ward and Georgie Freeland were on hand to provide some inspiration for the girls, who having been participating in the Changemakers project since October 2022. Originally an auction prize won by Gordana Šolak, wife of Southampton FC majority owner Dragan Šolak, the experience was donated back to Saints Foundation to use with their young people.

The group is around halfway through the 10-month programme, with their graduation set to take place in August. Participants engage in monthly workshops looking at unlocking personal strengths, improving wellbeing and giving back to their community – including volunteering a Hampshire FA led football tournament last month.Changemakers empowers, inspires and develops leadership potential in girls aged 11-16, opening up pathways and boosting aspirations for the future. It forms an important part of our new plan, falling under our Gender Equality focus.
