Saints Women set for mouth-watering United tie
Southampton FC Women have been handed a mouth-watering home tie against Manchester United in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup fifth round.
Saints reached the last 16 of the competition courtesy of Sunday’s 2-0 away victory at fellow Barclays Women’s Championship promotion hopefuls Sunderland.
The reward for Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side is a plum tie against Women’s Super League giants United, runners-up in last season’s FA Cup final.
The cup clash will take place on the weekend of 10th/11th February, when Saints will hope to cause an upset and reach the quarter-finals for the first time in the club’s history.
