Saints to face West Brom in play-offs
Southampton will face West Bromwich Albion in the Championship semi-finals, as their opponents were confirmed on the last day of the season.
Saints, who beat Leeds United 2-1 at Elland Road, were guaranteed to finish the day in fourth, but were waiting to discover which team would claim fifth position.
Norwich had started the day holding that spot, but their 1-0 defeat at Birmingham opened the door for the Baggies, who leapt them in the standings after a 3-0 home victory over Preston.
Saints will now visit The Hawthorns next Sunday for the first leg of the tie, with kick-off at 2.15pm BST.
The sides will then meet again at St Mary’s on Friday 17th May, at 8pm BST, to decide which will advance to the final at Wembley.
The winners will face whoever advances in the other semi-final, which will see Leeds take on Norwich.
