Saints' September 2024 international guide
We take a pause from Premier League action for the international break, with 10 of our Men’s First Team off to represent their respective countries.
The Nations League returns in September, with Jan Bednarek and Will Smallbone beginning their campaigns with Poland and Republic of Ireland.
Looking to confirm an eighth straight World Cup appearance, Japan have called upon the services of Yukinari Sugawara for their qualifiers against China and Bahrain, with the full-back fresh from scoring his first goal for the club at Brentford.
Similarly, Ben Brereton Díaz is headed to South America to try and help Chile get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track against Argentina and Bolivia.
The competitive action continues for some of our youngsters in Under-21 EURO 2025 qualifying, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Nathan Wood joining England, Mateus Fernandes linking up with Portugal and Lesley Ugochukwu representing France.
The duo of Sam Amo-Ameyaw and Tyler Dibling, who have been in every matchday squad for Saints so far in 2024/25, are Croatia-bound for three friendly fixtures representing England Under-19s.
