Saints Foundation supported as Lord Mayor's Charity
A number of events are being held through the year to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities.
The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Valerie Laurent, has chosen Saints Foundation as one of three local charities she’ll support throughout her term.
We’ll benefit from funds raised at events during Lord Mayor Laurent’s mayoral year, which began back in May when she was sworn in as the city’s 801st Right Worshipful Mayor.
All money raised will be split between Saints Foundation and fellow chosen charities Oasis Southampton City Farm and Southampton Sea Cadets.
Greg Baker, CEO of Saints Foundation, said: “We’re very grateful to be chosen as one of The Right Worshipful Mayor’s charities for her mayoral year.
“Please get involved in Lord Mayor Laurent’s events and give generously in support of her three charities, who are all doing great work here in Southampton.”
Councillor Valerie Laurent, The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Southampton, said: “I’m delighted to be supporting Saints Foundation as one of my three Lord Mayor’s charities.
“Their fantastic team have a life-changing impact on thousands of people, young and old, year on year. The work they’re doing is making Southampton a better place to live for everyone.
“We all may need this help at some point in our lives, who knows what the future holds for us? Giving something back in your support is vital, and thank you.”
The special events lined up the Lord Mayor include a charity fashion show, a day at sea aboard MS Bolette, and a 'Time and Tide' evening of songs, stories and poems reflecting the history of Southampton. Explore the full range of activities coming up:
