We're talking about Saints Foundation's mental health programme as Saints welcome Huddersfield to St Mary's today (10 Feb).

At any time, 1 in 8 UK men struggle with poor mental health. By that statistic, there will hundreds of men attending matchdays at St Mary’s facing a challenging time. If that’s you, we want you to know you’re not alone, and there is help out there.

If you’re a man aged 18+, you live in Southampton and you feel you need support with your mental health, Saints By Your Side can help. You can access 12 weeks of free group support sessions here at St Mary’s Stadium, coming together with men facing similar challenges to talk in a safe space – free from judgement, with expert support on hand.

Saints By Your Side

What does a normal session look like? We often start with a walk round the pitch – weather permitting, of course! – for a catch up, getting the conversation flowing while upping everyone’s step counts, too. Then it’s up to the Saints Foundation lounge in the Chapel Stand for more group discussion within tailored wellbeing workshops. With each cohort, we listen to the issues you’re facing and introduce you to coping strategies based on those specific needs – for example, managing emotions, anxiety, grief, anger, or substance misuse.

If Saints By Your Side sounds like something that could be useful for you, go to the webpage and self-refer. All you need to do is input your name and phone number and one of our team will get in touch.
