Pahars’ special St Mary’s return
Club legends from the Class of ’99 team joined us at St Mary’s last Thursday and what an evening it was. Fans who bought tickets came along to a night in the Halo and 1885 suites at the stadium to meet and dine with Saints icons from the late ‘90s like Marian Pahars.
This season, we’re working to give you the opportunity to attend more events at St Mary’s Stadium, like this one, to bring you closer to the club you love.
On top of meeting Marian and a host of his teammates, fans with tickets enjoyed our food and drinks from our premium Hospitality lounges in an evening that proved a huge success.
Following the event, Marian then joined us again on Saturday as we beat Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City 3-1.
If you went into the concourses at half-time, you may have noticed they were rather quiet. Marian was interviewed on the pitch and presented with a special medal and certificate by the grandson of the first goal-scorer at The Dell , Watty Keay, to commemorate the Latvian former Saint scoring the first league goal at St Mary’s upon opening in 2001.
Marian wanted to gift the medal and certificate back to the club and you’ll be able to see them on display at the stadium soon.
If you want to make sure of your place at the next great Saints event, you can keep an eye on what’s coming up here.
