Southampton FC Women’s Megan Collett has signed her first professional contract after turning 18.

Coming up through the Saints Academy set-up, Collett became a key part of Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s squad during the 2021/22 season, as they confirmed promotion to the Barclays Women’s Championship.

Collett then cemented her position in the starting-eleven as Saints entered their debut season in the second tier, securing sixth place.

Her performances at club level also saw a number of call-ups to the Young Lionesses during the 2022/23 season, joining up with fellow Saint Lucia Kendall on camps.

On signing her first professional contract, Collett commented:

"Signing a first professional contract is any little girl's dream come true and to do it at my home club - the club I grew up at - makes it even more special.

"The Academy was a big part of my journey in signing a first professional contract and I cannot thank the staff and all the players that have helped develop me into the player and person that I am today.

"I cannot wait for the journey ahead. The hard work carries on and I cannot wait to keep learning and developing into the player I want to be!"
