WHAT'S AT STAKE?

Saints will be hoping a return to home soil will bring a return in good fortunes following a tricky run of fixtures in recent weeks.

A first win in four on Tuesday night will see Russell Martin's side strengthen their position in fourth, potentially going nine points clear of West Brom in fifth.

They come up against an in-form Coventry City side, looking to build on their impressive 2-1 win against Leeds United on Saturday.

That result meant it's one defeat in their last five. Three points on Tuesday would see them move level on points with sixth placed Norwich City. Two points behind West Brom.

TEAM NEWS

Saints will be boosted by the return of duo Stuart Armstrong (concussion) and James Bree (suspension) who missed the trip to Blackburn.

THE MANAGERS

Russell Martin: "Everyone is playing to be part of the best team to get us promoted to the Premier League. It’s really that simple. We have an opportunity to put things right on the pitch tomorrow.

"Three home games in a week is a great moment for us. Coventry have real clarity in what they’re doing, so it’ll be a tough game but an exciting game for us."

Mark Robins: To follow.

ONES TO WATCH

Stuart Armstrong: The Scot's potential return to the side will be a welcome return for Saints, who will be looking to add a clinical spark to what was an assured defensive display on Saturday.

Armstrong's recent form suggests he'll do just that, contributing to four goals in his last seven games, with three of his four goals this season coming at St Mary's.

Ellis Simms: There's no denying who's on form for Coventry City right now, boasting a return of 10 goals in 12 games.

Ellis Simms' run includes four goals in three games, including the opener during Saturday's win over Leeds United.
