Southampton FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of Lucy Watson on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The 20-year-old forward has arrived on the South Coast after sealing the move before the transfer window closed on Friday 13th September.

The youngster's career began at Doncaster Belles, where she made her senior debut as a 15-year-old before she joined Sheffield United and impressed once again.

She recorded 22 first team appearances in the Barclays Women's Championship with the Blades and earned a move to Chelsea in the summer of 2022.

A loan move back to the second tier with Charlton Athletic was cut short through injury but, after her recovery, she joined Crystal Palace on loan during the 2023/24 campaign

The England youth international made eight appearances for the Eagles and helped them earn promotion to the top flight, before returning to Chelsea's first team over the summer for their pre-season tour in America.

With plenty of experience at a young age, and a Championship promotion under her belt, Watson will bolster Remi Allen's forward line for the 2024/25 campaign.

"It's great to have Lucy on board with us." Allen added, "we're excited to work with her and she'll bring good depth to our attacking options this season."
