Southampton’s loanees were in action over the Easter weekend, with two debuts and a return from injury to highlight in our latest Loan Watch…

Jake Vokins and Will Merry joined non-league neighbours Eastleigh last week, linking up with ex-Saint Kelvin Davis who is in charge of the National League side.

Vokins made his debut on Good Friday, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Woking that boosted the Spitfires’ survival hopes in the fifth tier.

He also played the entirety of Easter Monday’s clash against Maidenhead United, as Merry made his senior debut off the bench as a late substitute in a narrow 3-2 defeat.

Up in the Football League, Derrick Abu was a second-half substitute for Harrogate Town in their dominant 5-1 win over Gillingham on Monday; the full-back played the final half-an-hour in a victory that puts the Yorkshire side four points away from the play-offs.

Elsewhere in League Two, Lewis Payne featured in two defeats with Newport County, playing the entirety of a Good Friday trip to Colcheser before coming off the bench for the end of Easter Monday’s loss against Crawley Town.

Back in non-league, goalkeeper Ollie Wright made his return from injury with Worthing and helped the play-off hopefuls to two wins in four days.

On Wright’s first game back, he made some important saves in a 5-1 win over Havant & Waterlooville before keeping a clean sheet against Hampton & Richmond in a 2-0 victory three days later.

In France, Duje Ćaleta-Car continued to feature for Lyon in Ligue 1 as they drew with Stade de Reims, with the Croatian playing the full game for the tenth consecutive match in a row.

Finally, Romain Perraud made his second successive start for Nice, playing an hour in their narrow defeat against Nantes.
