Lavia completes Chelsea transfer
Roméo Lavia has completed a transfer to Chelsea, Southampton Football Club can confirm.
The midfielder leaves St Mary’s following a substantial offer from the Blues, with the 19-year-old having made 34 appearances during his eye-catching season as a Saints player.
Lavia joined in 2022 from Manchester City and was immediately given the opportunity to establish himself in senior football, swiftly marking himself out as one of the finest young defensive midfield talents in Europe.
He scored once during his time with the club – coincidentally, in a 2-1 win over Chelsea in August last year – and also earned his first call-up to the Belgium national team.
