Russell Martin has confirmed Kamaldeen Sulemana will return to the squad this weekend when Saints host Huddersfield in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

The winger has been absent since the end of November due to injury, but after returning to team training in recent weeks is in line to feature against the Terriers.

Providing an update, Martin said: "I think the bench tomorrow is so strong. We have Kamaldeen back in the squad now, which is a really brilliant thing for us, a completely different option to anything else we have.

"He’s excited by the prospect of being back in the team. He’s working so hard, training like an absolute beast because he knows that’s what it’s going to take and the other guys are the same.

"Brooksy comes in the building and all of a sudden everyone looks at him and thinks there’s going to be more competition. Joe Rothwell [comes in], Will Smallbone has probably three or four best games for us since we’ve been here and it's no coincidence.

"But they are really pushing each other in such a good way, they’re competing every day in training and the whole point of putting everyone through the work is so they can go on the pitch and hopefully, when you make two or three changes, one or two, or five or six like the other night, the team doesn’t look too different."
