Everything you need to know ahead of travelling to Wembley

The game on Sunday will be emotionally charged but we know we can rely on you, as we have throughout this season, to follow the rules set in place by travel operators and the teams in and around Wembley Stadium. Have a great day and make the most of it!

Travel

With thousands of fans making the trip, it’s crucial you plan ahead to make sure you get to Wembley Stadium in good time.

Trains

South Western Railway is expecting services to be extremely busy, particularly towards Waterloo from 7am to midday and from Waterloo towards Southampton from 6pm to 8pm.

Despite running additional services, trains and stations will still be very crowded and queuing systems will be in operation at some stations.

Please set off extra early and allow plenty of time to complete your journey, as you may not be able to board the first train.

A revised timetable will be in operation on surrounding parts of the network, so check train times online before you travel and listen to announcements at stations.

Rail travel in London

Wembley Stadium benefits from easy access to three rail / London Underground stations. These are:

• Wembley Central Station (Bakerloo Line)

• Wembley Park Station (Jubilee and Metropolitan Line)

• Wembley Stadium Station (Chiltern Rail)

Anyone travelling by rail should plan to arrive at Wembley stations no later than one hour prior to kick-off, to allow sufficient time to walk to and enter the stadium.

Post-match, you’re asked to leave the ground promptly and avoid opting for the last train of the day. Please allow for longer journey times from Wembley Stadium to London Euston station due to crowd safety controls for safe station access.

Please check the National Rail Enquiries and Transport for London websites to plan your travel in advance and to be notified of real-time travel information and status updates on matchday.

Coaches and National Express

Coaches leaving from St Mary’s Stadium to Wembley are now SOLD OUT. National Express will be operating services too, leaving from Southampton Coach Station – check the National Express website or call 08717 81 81 81 about booking.

For fans taking the coach from St Mary’s Stadium, we’ll be opening from 8am, offering breakfast food in the Itchen South concourse and we'll have face painters at the ready too. The Stadium Megastore will also be open so you can buy any last-minute merch, including the Saints Wembley range.

Coaches will be leaving between 09:30am - 10am so please make sure to arrive in lots of time. There’ll be no parking at St Mary’s Stadium due to preparations for the Take That concert the following week, so please plan an alternative travel method.

Looking for something to do on the coach? Matchday programmes will be on sale at St Mary’s so pick one up to have a read on your way to Wembley.

Cars

Parking at Wembley Stadium is limited and must be booked in advance via the Wembley Official Parking website. Saints fans have been allocated the Pink Car Park which is now SOLD OUT to cars. There are still minibus and coach spaces available.

If you don’t pre-book, you won’t be given access to the stadium car parks.

What can I take into the stadium?

Wembley bags policy

Each person can only bring one small bag, and it must not be bigger than A4 size:

• Height 297mm (11.7 inches)

• Width 210mm (8.27 inches)

• Depth 210mm (8.27 inches)

Please note: this means the overall bag size. Bags that are half full and folded over to reduce their size will not be accepted.

Anyone carrying bags that don’t meet the criteria above WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN.

Bringing individual flags

You can bring a flag into the ground without permission from Wembley Stadium providing the following guidelines are followed

• The flag is smaller than 250cm in size at the widest or longest point (or smaller than 200cm x 100 cm if you are seated on Level 5 of the stadium).

• The flag doesn’t have an attached flagpole.

• In the case of an attached flagpole, it’s made from plastic only and is no longer than 1m in length and 1cm in diameter.

• There’s no advertising or commercial message on the flag.

• The flag doesn’t contain any abusive or defamatory language/messages.

Any fans wanting to take flag(s) larger than 250cm (at its widest point) to Wembley Stadium must get prior permission.

Please contact FA Events (call 0800 169 1863) to request permission. Anyone wanting to gain entry to Wembley Stadium carrying flag(s) larger than 250cm (or 200cm x 100cm) on Level 5 without prior permission will not be allowed entry.

Tickets

Anyone without a ticket shouldn’t travel to the game. All tickets are strictly non-transferable and aren’t available to distribute to other fans.

If you have a ticket, you’re advised to check you’re seated in the appropriate area of the stadium. Any fan who’s identified in opposition areas will be removed from the stadium for breaching the FA’s ground regulations and will be subject to the Saints sanctions process.

Children over the age of two are welcome at the ground but you’ll need to make sure to have bought them a relevant ticket.

NOTE: Additional ticket checks will be in operation at points in and around the stadium before entry. Please have your tickets ready to show matchday stewards when asked.

Fan Zones and Saints pubs

The area surrounding Wembley Stadium will be split into Saints and Leeds sections. Our fan zone is located in Arena Square, on the northwest side of the stadium. Pubs have also been split and allocated to each set of fans. The Saints pubs are as follows:

Entertainment in the Saints Fan Zone

We’ll have a whole host of entertainment in the Saints fan zone from 11am – 2:30pm to help you get ready for kick-off:

• Get your game face on with our face painters.

• Live music from David Littleton, Saints Brass, Calum Lintott, The Moonrunners and live DJ sets will be helping build the atmosphere.

• Sammy and Mary Saint will be roaming the fan zone and they’ll be happy to stop for photos.

• Listen out for special guest interviews.

• Get involved in our family fun games and giveaways.

There’ll also be food and drinks on offer throughout the fan zone’s opening times.

Fan Zone and pub guidance

• Entry into the allocated fan zones is only permitted with a valid ticket to the match. The fan zones are open from 11am.

• Avoid arriving too early into Wembley, unless attending a licensed premises (please book in advance where possible).

• There’s limited capacity in pubs and bars so you may wish to visit other premises outside of Wembley before making your way to the match.

• Local off-licences will not be selling alcohol.

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO)

• Street drinking is not permitted across the whole of Brent and will be enforced under the PSPO.

• The handling and letting off of pyrotechnics (flares) is also prohibited. If you handle or let off a flare inside the stadium you’ll be arrested.

• The buying/selling of tickets and urination are amongst some of the other prohibitions that will be enforced.

• The link to the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), which details all of the prohibitions can be found here.

• Anyone found to be breaching the PSPO will be acted against and you may not be allowed into the stadium to watch the match.

Stadium access

• The game kicks off at 3pm.

• General admission to the stadium will be from 1pm.

• Doors for hospitality will open one hour earlier at midday.

• Make sure you arrive at the stadium in good time to assist with security protocols. Children (14 years and under) must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of two will not be allowed into the stadium.

• Please refer to your ticket for your turnstile colour zone. The quickest route to your turnstile entry point is by following the signage for the colour zone. Please make sure you enter via the correct turnstile.

Stadium Security

The safety and security of fans at Wembley Stadium is of paramount importance and there’ll be robust and thorough security measures in place before, during and after the match.

The team at Wembley works closely with the police, the Safety Advisory Group and the relevant authorities to make sure the stadium’s security protocols meet the highest standards.

There’ll be multiple ticket checks and security searches in place on the day, including on the perimeter of the stadium and near the turnstiles, so we encourage you to arrive at the stadium 60-90 minutes before kick-off to allow enough time to assist with the security protocols.

Anyone attempting to tailgate or gain illicit access to the stadium will be stopped and reported to the police.

All events at Wembley Stadium have a strong police presence and search dogs with handlers will also be patrolling around the stadium to identify and apprehend anyone with illegal or prohibited items, including pyrotechnics and banned substances.

Offensive Chanting

Wembley Stadium has a zero-tolerance policy on any form of anti-social, offensive and discriminatory conduct, and anyone found guilty of this behaviour will be removed from the stadium and reported to the authorities.

Offensive tragedy-related chanting, gesturing and displaying of abusive messages is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. People who are found to have committed offences face stadium bans and potential criminal prosecution.

No-street-drinking zone

Brent Council have enforced a no-street-drinking zone on Olympic Way and the surrounding area for ALL events at Wembley Stadium.

This is part of the current Public Space Order Protection in place around the stadium on event days.

Fans drinking on Olympic Way and the surrounding streets will be asked to hand over their alcohol and enforcement action may be considered.

If you want alcohol, please head to the licensed bars or restaurants in the area or make your way to the dedicated Saints fan zone outside the stadium.

Pyrotechnics

The use of pyrotechnics, flares and smoke devices inside or outside Wembley Stadium is illegal and prohibited. Anyone caught carrying or using pyrotechnical equipment inside the stadium will be immediately removed, banned from future events and dealt with by police. Those caught using pyrotechnic equipment anywhere outside of the stadium will be in breach of the PSPO order and face enforcement action. More information here.

Disabled supporters

Wembley Stadium is a welcoming and inclusive venue for all guests with access requirements. There are 310 places for wheelchair users, each with a personal assistant/companion seat. The stadium also provides a range of services for guests with specialist access requirements including a shuttle service from Wembley Park Station. More information can be found here.

Persistent standing

Persistent standing during a match at Wembley Stadium is strictly forbidden (unless with a ticket for the safe standing area) and may result in removal from the ground. Persistent standing not only compromises crowd safety but also affects the matchday experience of fellow spectators, especially children and elderly people.

Anti-social and discriminatory behaviour

Wembley Stadium operates a zero-tolerance policy on any form of anti-social and discriminatory behaviour. If you witness any anti-social or discriminatory behaviour on the day, text HELP to 66566 or contact your nearest steward.
