Southampton Football Club can confirm that Academy midfielder Diamond Edwards has joined Port Vale on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old leaves after five years at the club, where he excelled through the scholarship age groups to earn his first professional contract and full senior debut.

He was a part of the 2021/22 Under-18s Premier League South title-winning team before establishing himself at Under-21s level.

Edwards made his first team debut in August 2022, as part of a trio of academy stars that featured in the Carabao Cup against Cambridge United.

After battling through a difficult period of injuries, he made eight appearances last season for the Under-21s.

As he now departs for permanent senior football, the club wishes Diamond all the best for the next stage of his career.
