Duo shortlisted for January awards
Russell Martin and Stuart Armstrong have been shortlisted for the EFL Championship’s Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards respectively.
January saw Saints set a new club record, with victory at Swansea moving the club to 21 games unbeaten in all competitions, the club's longest run since joining the Football League in 1920.
The win in Wales followed a 4-0 demolition of Sheffield Wednesday at St Mary's, with 2024 starting with a 1-1 draw at Norwich.
A standout performer last month was Stuart Armstrong, with the midfielder providing three assists in as many games.
Teeing up Adam Armstrong against the Owls, the Scotsman then assisted two of the three goals scored at Swansea a week later.
The other players in contention are Ben Hamer (Watford), Dan James (Leeds) and Morgan Whittaker (Plymouth Argyle).
Daniel Farke (Leeds United), Ian Foster (Plymouth Argyle) and Mark Robins (Coventry City) make up the manager shortlist.
The winners of both awards will be announced on Friday 9th February.
