Carabao Cup ball numbers confirmed
Southampton will be ball number 28 in Thursday’s Carabao Cup first round draw.
The draw will take place live on Sky Sports at 2.30pm BST, following the 9am release of the Sky Bet Championship fixtures.
This season’s first round draw is exclusively for EFL clubs and will be regionalised, meaning Saints will avoid the likes of Leeds and Leicester.
There are 33 possible opponents for Saints in the southern section, including local rivals Portsmouth, and potential ties as far north as Birmingham and Norwich.
