Armstrong assist rescues Scotland
In true Southampton fashion, Stuart Armstrong provided the assist for Scotland's 92nd minute equaliser to earn a point at Georgia in EURO 2024 qualifying on Thursday night.
Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored a brace for the hosts either side of Scott McTominay's leveller, before the stoppage time assist from the Southampton midfielder, who came off the bench with just over ten to play.
Armstrong's inch-perfect cross was met by the head of Lawrence Shankland, adding another point in Group A for the already qualified Tartan Army.
It was also a point gained for Joe Aribo at Nigeria in their first outing in World Cup qualifying.
Aribo played the final 13 minutes as Semi Ajayi's second half equaliser got the Super Eagles off the mark against Lesotho.
Meanwhile, Sam Edozie featured from the start for England's Elite League Squad during the defeat to Italy in the Under-20 Elite League.
Interim coach Ben Futcher oversaw a 3-0 defeat to Italy at Doncaster Rovers' Eco-Power Stadium.
