Joe Aribo and Nigeria are in the Africa Cup of Nations final after a dramatic penalty shootout win over South Africa on Wednesday night.

The game finished 1-1 after regular time, with an astonishing end to proceedings in Bouake which involved VAR overruling a Victor Osimhen strike that would have put the Super Eagles 2-0 up, instead awarding a penalty to Bafana Bafana in the 90th minute, which Teboho Mokoena converted.

With the game in the balance, Aribo was introduced in the 102nd minute but was unable to help his side find a winner to avoid penalties.

However, Stanley Nwabali was Nigeria's hero by saving two penalties, allowing Leicester's Kelechi Iheanacho to net the winning spot kick to send his country through to Sunday's final where they'll face hosts Ivory Coast.
