2022/23 Premier League fixtures revealed
With the 2022/23 Premier League fixtures revealed, Southampton will begin the campaign with a trip to Tottenham on the opening weekend.
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will head to North London on Saturday 6th August, before a first outing of the season at St Mary’s the following weekend, as Leeds United arrive on the south coast.
A busy August continues with a visit to Leicester, followed by mouth-watering back-to-back home clashes with Manchester United and Chelsea to round off the opening month.
Of the three newly promoted teams, Saints will first make the short trip along the coast to AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday 18th October, with the reverse fixture falling in the final six outings of the campaign on Wednesday 26th April.
To accommodate the first ever winter World Cup, the Premier League season will pause after Southampton’s visit to Liverpool on Saturday 12th November to allow for the tournament in Qatar.
Restarting in festive fashion on Boxing Day, Hasenhüttl’s men will take on Brighton at St Mary’s, before heading to the capital on New Year’s Eve for a clash with newly promoted Fulham.
Moving into 2023, Saints play host to Nottingham Forest on Monday 2nd January, before a 12-day pause to allow for the third round of the Emirates FA Cup and fifth round of the Carabao Cup.
With 10 games in the final two months of the campaign, April includes a St Mary’s double-header against Manchester City and Crystal Palace, with the season concluding in May as Jürgen Klopp’s Reds arrive in SO14 on Sunday 28th May.
